My philosophy, bringing the outdoors in through natural elements, mixed with modern, traditional, and the unexpected create a serene home that stands the test of time and good taste.

Well, let me introduce you to my best friend since the second grade…

WE have been through just about everything together in the last 40 years. The heartbreak of loss, life’s joys and  struggles but most importantly, standing beside each other through everything. I can not express the gratitude I feel just knowing her. Her love of beauty, creativity and sense of style just astounds me.

This is the type of relationship that stands the test of time. You know, the kind where you don’t see each other for a long while and once you are together you don’t miss a beat. The fate type of relationship, SISTERHOOD.

We spent our “Thanksgiving” together like we have done for countless years. Our children also have friendships that will last forever. Her first three are the same ages as mine and have spent countless hours with each other over the period of 24 years.

While she was here in Maryland, she made my new house a home with her glorious floral arrangement. It’s hard to achieve this when you are newly moved into a home with the “Holidays” in your face but she with a few clicks of her branch cutter, floral ideas and most importantly her quick paced mind, she put these together like a whirl wind of magic…

I love this about her 20 things going on in this pretty little mind but makes each and every decision with guided intuition, love of beauty but most importantly with “mad” creativity…

Her designs just want to make you stare in glorious delight…

Dream Job

b5fe9b98e030cc585445db0a5a2cbb70

Growing up, every little kid has their ultimate dream job of being a police officer and saving lives or in my case, being a princess and living in a castle. Every time my family ordered out from the local chinese food restaurant we each would open our fortune cookies together. My dad would always read mine because I had yet to learn how to read. Each time he read my fortune, it was always the same.

“You will be a beautiful princess and live in a huge castle”

Every time.

Finally, when I learned how to read for myself, I had the opportunity to read my own fortune cookie. Everyone lingered around to see my reaction when I read

“The fortune you seek is in the next cookie!!”

I mean really…come on. That is the ultimate buzz kill. Here I was walking around school like the ultimate diva because my fortune cookie said I was going to be a princess, and little did I know my dad was joshing me the whole entire time!

Kidding, I was not that bad…maybe.

But back to the point. Everyone has this dream job and some of those dream jobs, like man, are not as accessible as most. Now, my dream is to do PR for a non profit dealing with children, and somehow, make someones life a little brighter. I have always had this idea that if I can help other people, then I truly have lived my life to the fullest. Now that I am 21, I can finally pursue this dream, and I am just freaking out.

A good freaking out, obviously, but seriously..growing up is insane! Sometimes I wish I could go back to being 5 and wearing my tiara and bossing my family around because I was the princess of the house. Now, I have responsibilities and school and the thought of graduation is crazy to me. It all has become so surreal, and I cannot believe how the time did fly. Can’t we just slow it all down and be a little more carefree? I wish.

I will fulfill my dream one day, whether it be tomorrow, a month from now, or years from now. My dream of being a princess, and a PR agent on the side. LOL

Keep that dream alive, and always strive to pursue what you want so that in the end you are happy.

Fall is Here!

The leaves are changing, the temperature (other than this weekend) is getting colder, and the boots are coming out!

FALL IS HERE!

My favorite season of the year is here, and I couldn’t be happier.

Out of all the seasons, I believe that fall is the most beautiful. The irony of the changing of the leaves to the beautiful reds and oranges only lets us see their true beauty right before they fall off for the cold winter.

Not only that, but fall is the perfect mixture of cool and warm weather. Sweaters with light jackets are an ultimate go to for myself along with, well, every other girl.

Fall is definitely the perfect weather for sweaters. Sweaters, and boots. Boots and sweaters. Perfection.

Fall is also the season of PUMPKIN EVERYTHING! Don’t lie. You love the smell, taste, and overall feeling you get when you are around anything pumpkin. I enjoy pumpkin muffins, pies, donuts, coffee, candles, and so much more. You name it, I love it.

Come on people, how can you not love the colors of fall. One day I want to walk down a quiet abandoned road, surrounding by trees, and just take in the beauty that is mother nature. Fall is so peaceful. And who doesn’t love jumping in a nice HUGE leaf pile. Its a great opportunity for you to act like a kid again.

HALLOWEEN!

Don’t forget that one of the best holidays is in the fall. Halloween is the perfect time for you to be anybody, or anything you want without worrying what people think about you. Its a time where eating too much candy, and running around trick-or-treating, even if you are too old, is much necessary.

Marshmallows.

Who loves a good fire? Back home we have this awesome fire place where we crowd around and roast marshmallows all night long.

LAstly!

Thanksgiving.

Boy do I love me some turkey and mashed potatoes. I love when my family can get together and do the things that we love the most. EAT food.

Above that, its not just about the food, its a time when we all can really be there, and enjoy each others company. We can finally forget about the troubles and stress of reality, and be care free. The only stress I feel is being too full and struggling a bit 😉

If this doesn’t sell you on loving fall the most, then I don’t know what will. Fall is beautiful, peaceful, fun, happy. It is all the above. It is everything that I could ask for in a season, and so much more. Fall is my happy place.

How do you say “I love you”?

We were asked to be part of this unbelievable Wedding shoot and of course we were honored.

We are introducing our floral crowns at Lillyput Lane Design Company and Bare and Me for Fall and what a way to shout this to the world.  We are blessed with the love and support from many Brides who choose to use us to say “thank you” to their wedding parties.
